Day Tour at the Citadel, Moez Street & Khan El khalili

Salah El-Din built the citadel to connect Cairo and Fustat, Egypt’s largest cities at that time, to defend the city against the Crusaders the most popular citadel in Cairo. Salah El-Din built it in 1176 AD, it was the place of most Egypt’s rulers for 700 years.

The Khan is a center for trade, both local and foreign, in the late 15th century. it includes traditional crafts, hundreds of workers and artisans who specializing hand made masterpieces such as carpets, crystals, papyrus, gold and silver jewelry ,it is also famous for beautiful pharaonic artifacts

Moez Street today is a mix of medieval mosques and buildings alongside modern vendors and shops in an Old Cairo neighborhood, it runs from the city gate of Bab al-Futuh in the north to the gate of Bab Zuweila in the south, both entrances in the stone walls ,This makes it one of the longest streets in the walled city in the 11th century.
